Care Tips for Refinished Surfaces

Congratulations on your newly refinished surface! You've chosen the finest tub and tile coating in the industry. With a little regular care, your refinished bathtub or fixture will stay beautiful and radiant for years to come.

General Care

  • Treat your refinished surface like a brand new bathtub — remove excess water and wipe dry after each use.
  • Always ensure faucets are fully closed and the shower pipe is fully drained after each use.
  • Do not rest soap bottles, spray cans, bar soap, or wet cloths on the surface for extended periods of time.
  • Never use hair dye in a refinished bathtub.
  • If bathing pets, always place a towel on the surface first to prevent scratches.

Bath Mats

  • If your surface did not have our non-slip system applied and you find it slippery, you may use a non-suctioned bath mat or a towel — these must be removed and stored flat after each use. Do not hang them over the edge of the tub. We carry a non-suctioned bath mat in our online store designed specifically for use with refinished surfaces.
  • Do not use suctioned bath mats or stick-on strips. These will cause bonding failures in the refinish coating.

Cleaning

  • Clean your surface at least once a week with a liquid, non-abrasive cleaner — even if it doesn't look dirty. Products like Scrubbing Bubbles, Formula 409, or Fantastik work well.
  • Never use bleach or abrasive cleaners such as Comet, Ajax, or Soft Scrub on a refinished surface. Exception: if the non-slip system has been applied to the floor of your surface, Soft Scrub may be used carefully on that area only.
  • Do not use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Despite its gentle reputation, it is a micro-abrasive sponge that will gradually damage your coating with repeated use.
